“I am 64 years old and for the first time in my life, I developed a serious medical condition. Doctors at the Veteran’s Administration (VA) said I have an autoimmune condition called ulcerative colitis. It is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes long-lasting inflammation and ulcers in the intestinal tract. I have also seen another doctor outside of the VA for this condition and have been on several medications since November 2019.
