In June 2019, at Master Sha’s Tao Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, many people witnessed a remarkable event. Beloved Barbara Sambueno, a longtime student of Master Sha and mother of Patrick, suffered from physical pain after slipping on a few stairs, breaking her clavicle, and fracturing her right hip. Despite her bones’ mending, Barbara endured significant pain, had difficulty walking, and used a cane and travel chair for constant support months later.
The Power of the Tao Calligraphy Healing Field
During a Tao Chang Tao Calligraphy Healing Evening, certified Master Teacher of Tao Academy™, Cecilia Liu chose Barbara as the subject for a Tao Calligraphy healing demonstration. The purpose was to show the power of correction with Tao Calligraphy.
Cecilia asked Barbara to walk a few times in front of the audience. Everyone saw how difficult it was for Barbara to walk and saw the wincing of pain in her facial expression. She then asked Barbara for a number from one (minimal) to ten (intense) that described her discomfort level. Barbara said it was a 10+.
Cecilia then instructed Barbara to write the Tao Calligraphy, Da, on the water paper. Everyone was asked to take note of the structural imbalances in Barbara’s writing. Cecilia shared how Barbara’s writing reflected the pain within her body. As a Tao Calligraphy Grandmaster, she wrote over Barbara’s writing, essentially correcting the calligraphy structure that Barbara wrote. After a few minutes of continuous tracing and chanting, Cecilia asked Barbara to walk the same path as she did earlier.
To everyone’s surprise and joy, Barbara stood up straighter and walked with confidence. She walked smoothly without a single sign of pain and eventually put aside the cane that she depended on for many months.
Everyone in the room rejoiced and celebrated what had unfolded before their eyes. Feelings of deepest gratitude, happiness, and reverence for beloved Master Sha, Tao, Source, and more filled the room. The experience was completely awe-inspiring. Barbara and the participants were enormously grateful to Cecilia and were heart-touched and humbled beyond words.
